Principal Message

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year at Académie Saint André Academy. As a staff, we are pleased to welcome all of our new families and to welcome back all of those who have helped shape ASAA into the wonderful school that it is.

We want to offer a warm welcome to some new staff members. The following new teachers have come on board this year: Mme. Mikela Potvin in grade 1 F.I., Mme. Krista Connell in grade 3F.I., and Mme. Sophie Meunier in grade 3 F.I. . We are also pleased to introduce our new head custodian, Mr. Luis Flores. Mr. Flores and his staff have been very busy this summer getting our school ready for the return of students. It looks wonderful.

As you are well aware, Ecole Mother D'Youville School is not quite ready for occupancy at this time which means that we will be sharing our school space with students from EMDY. This temporary situation has meant that some of the more public spaces in our school to be utilized in alternate ways. Don't be surprised to see our wonderful staff eating their lunch or having a cup of coffee in the gathering space as this is our temporary staff room.

Our division theme for the next three years is "We are people of the Way". This year we will be focussing on "Learning the Way". As a Catholic school, it is our privilege to be able to filter all we do through the lens of Faith. We strive to help our students learn to share the gospel message of love and hope through their words and actions. As parents and teachers, it then becomes our responsibility to model this Gospel message through our own word and actions. This is the greatest teaching we can do.

I am excited and honoured to be the new principal of Académie Saint André Academy. I will strive to make each day at ASAA one filled learning, laughter and love as together we continue on our journey of "Learning the Way".
